BIOGRAPHY

Cillian Donaghy is an Irish musical director, singing teacher and keys player with bases in county Derry and London. 

 

His formal training began when Cillian was offered a place on the highly competitive ‘joint course’  between the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester, where he studied classical voice and music. Whilst his main focus was on voice he also studied and performed as a conductor and repetiteur across both institutions. 

 

Following his undergraduate Cillian completed a masters in Musical Theatre Performance at the Guildford School of Acting. During his time he also accompanied classes, rehearsals and was the assistant musical director for the master’s showcase in the Shaftesbury Theatre London. 

 

As a tenor Cillian has enjoyed performing with Bergen National Opera as well as a soloist with several Choral societies across the UK. He was also taught singing and worked as a musical director for some the top musical theatre training institutions in the country. 

 

Most recently he has been working on the China tour of Cats and was the keys swing for the China tour of Love Never Dies. His conducting credits include the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s production of We Will Rock You and cover conductor for the UK & Ireland Tour of Jersey Boys.
